…………………………
hi there. spring seems to be taking her sweet old time this year, don’t you think? i spent the weekend in connecticut and it was bright and sunny on sunday, but quite chilly. i don’t think it hit 40 degrees, especially with the strong wind! despite a pesky cold (which i seem to get every year at this time), i forced myself to get out on sunday morning and take a walk with my camera. in doing so, i crossed something off of my spring list – visiting daffodil hill. the daffs are probably 2-3 weeks away from their peak. but since it’s my only chance to visit this year, i forged ahead and found a few brave flowers that, like me, were defying the cold temps and enjoying the sun. the best part was avoiding the crowds that descend during late april, and a nice quiet walk around the property, enjoying my time away from the city. afterwards, i warmed up with mint tea and then an easter feast with my family (which included molly’s ‘winning hearts & minds’ chocolate cake for dessert…)
i also crossed another thing off of my spring list this week – check it out here.
and when i returned to brooklyn last night, i had a package from sandra waiting for me with a fantastic surprise inside. how great … tack, sandra!
i hope your weekend was nice, too. i’m eagerly awaiting some warm temperatures…. and trying to be patient. it’s tough!
have a good day.

I feel the same way about Spring. Seems to tempt for so long and then take forever to get there. And those Nike’s…wow.
Looks like a magical place, indeed!
Isn’t that cake amazing? I’ve made it more times than I care to divulge . . .
Just recently found your blog, and am really enjoying your photos and links.
at least there were some daffs in bloom. i love the second photo. wish i could camp out there. it was so cold here in vermont yesterday and continues to be breezy today. hope you had a good weekend brian!
these photos are lovely. sounds like a great weekend. I grew up in the east and I truly miss the seasons changing.
I must say, I’m impressed by the number of things you’ve accomplished from your list. It is nice to go through life with a sense of direction, isn’t it?
We’ve got a bunch of daffodils growing in the woods around our house, and I can’t get the pictures right to do the scene justice. I really like yours of daffodil hill.
Gorgeous photos all around.
I hear ya on the spring(and the cold business!)…I am ready for warmer weather and more flowers!
A trip to Daffodil Hill looks like a great way to spend a Sunday! (The third photo – pussy willows? They’re one of my favourites.)
Great daffodil photos. They’ve popped up all over Copenhagen too.
lovely photos! reminds me of how much I love Spring!
