lately i’ve been really inspired by light and dark contrasts. the top photo was snapped one morning this week (that tissue paper came off of some drycleaning and i liked the way it caught the morning light). the second photo was taken this morning (and that fantastic print is from the incomparable hannah huffman).
today, i have 2 poetry links to share, in honor of national poetry month.
+ poems out loud (a great site from robert pinsky and others, celebrating the benefits of reading poetry out loud. if you check out the videos section, i particularly enjoyed the construction worker reading walt whitman. i could spend hours here).
+ this poem, “life story” by tennessee williams – this made me chuckle (you’ll see why when you read it).
i don’t claim to know very much about poetry, even though i read a lot of it in college. i’d love suggestions for some good poetry links.
what is on tap for your weekend? the weather is supposed to be amazing. i plan on meeting up with some good friends and i can’t wait. we’re going to do some eating, drinking, dancing and a little celebrating. i hope your weekend is full of that stuff, too. cheers.

Thank you! I LOVE your blog!! You are an extraordinary person. You being you makes me being me so much easier! Have a fantastic weekend!
A nice site full of poems here: http://www.americanlifeinpoetry.org/

happy weekend friend. roof deck?
Tennessee Williams just cracked me up.
This is all very good. Happy weekend!
we’ve had the most wonderful weather all week but in true british style it is going to rain all weekend. that might call for a bit of baking and a sunday morning spent with the observer food monthly. it’s always my favourite sunday of the month when that comes out. have a good one brian.
so good. i hope the roof deck figures into your weekend plans. i can send you a few favorite poems if you are interested.
happy weekend!
i love the light in the first two photos – gorgeous!!
