a day with friends

…………………….
good morning to you.
above are some photos from the day in brooklyn on saturday with amisha, jen, tom and shari. as you can see, our activities were heavily weighted towards food (surprising, huh?). since it was raining, we were looking for places to stop and stay dry. we had brunch in fort greene, chocolate at mast brothers in williamsburg, beer at the brewery, and a wonderful dinner at marlow & sons. it was such a fun day, walking around and stopping in to a shop here and there. and it felt like we had been friends for years! these are some very good people.
these photos show me that (a) i need to pay more attention to focusing with the pentax, and (b) i need to get my hands on a scanner. but i like them anyway — they seem to capture little moments during the day, and i like that.
i’m going to go pray for some sunshine in NY – hope your day is a nice one (the weekend is almost here!).

Oh those chocolate bars and the wrappers they come in…these photos are so wonderful! I would just love to go to places like this to take pictures.
What a fun day! Yay for flickr friends!
these are really great! i love the one of the chocolate wall. it was a lot of fun.
look up look down look up look down…
so where do i sign up for my brooklyn tour?
these photos make me so happy! i think the blur adds something to the photos and the rainy day-ness of it all. and those mappy chocolates?! delightful.
There are so many fantastic images here… Love it.
i think the soft focus is lovely! digital photos are often too clear!
what a lovely day.
and yayhey that the weekend is nearly here, i’m ready for it!
I love these! The third is my favorite, but they all seem to capture your neighborhood and that day beautifully. I was wondering as I was looking “do you scan them?” So, if you don’t have a scanner – how do you upload?
these shots are fantastic. i love seeing the day through your lens. i don’t even remember that chandelier. was it at marlow & sons?
all of these shots are totally gorgeous! i adore all of the little details you’ve captured and i can only imagine the fun you all had together. kindred spirits are few and far, but such a pleasure when you find them!
i will stop gushing now-good morning to you.
i always love your pictures but this set, in particular, is really wonderful!
wonderful! looks like so much fun. isn’t that such an amazing feeling, that you’ve known each other forever. i find that i’ve felt that way every time i’ve met someone through flickr/blogs. it’s amazing. as are these photos.
Lovely photos! Your photos always have great atmosphere, maybe it’s the light, maybe the colours, or composition… well probably all of them! You seem to have had a nice day, I like the chocolate packaging. My vague memory of Brooklyn is coming back now. Very nice!
someone just brought me back a mast chocolate bar from brooklyn! the packaging is so lovely. it looks like you all went on a wonderful tour. i’m going to have to write some of those places down for my next visit!
loving the colors in these, perfect vivid williamsburgrainyday.
here’s hoping this weekend’s a little sunnier!
looks like a perfect day, despite the rain!
Sounds like an ideal day (except for the never ending rain). I have some shots from Mast Brothers waiting on my Pentax and one bar left to savor.
OMG…those chocolates look seriously awesome! Such fabulous packaging!
The chandelier shot totally reminds me of the one I took last month

Another lovely lovely afternoon Brian!
Thanks for sharing!
Cheers
i like seeing your weekend from each of you guys, the different perspectives.
and the papers on those chocolate bars are little works of art. i imagine they taste that way too.
oh, brian — this looks like a wonderful, wonderful day.
oh i adore these film shots! adore them. and the wonder of a day with new old friends, i adore that too.
brian, these shots are really excellent. more film please!
oh my gosh the wrappings on those chocolate bars are so ingenious.
Also, I realize this is coming from a total stranger but your continuously improving with the quality of your images. The soft focus of this photo set is so warm and inviting, including all previous posts.
your photography makes my heart beat fast…love. xo t
Oh, Brooklyn Brewery! My husband kept the plastic tasting cups and we drink out of them when camping all the time… My sister lived in Brooklyn for a while, and we got engaged on one of our visits, so there’s always a big place in my heart for all things Brooklyn.
