……………..
it will come as no surprise to many of you that i own an inordinate amount of button down shirts. i simply can’t get enough. so i thought i’d do a little flickr favorite homage this week. (more evidence here, here and here).
but truth be told, it was hard picking a set of faves to share with you this week — i have been finding so many great images lately. i’ve also been thinking about the benefits and drawbacks of seeing wonderful photos online only … and whether you are affected differently by an image that you can actually hold in your hand. these thoughts came as i was working on a new project (which i will share with you soon). in the meantime, you can see all of the great (online) images that are inspiring me here.
this weekend is going to be a quiet one, and i think i’m happy about that. it’s good to slow down and appreciate these days of summer, before they are gone. what are your plans for the weekend? enjoy it.
There has been so many inspiring pictures lately. Must be the time of year too. Seriously, I have a bit of a t-shirt vice. And if there is more than one color of the same style, I usually buy them.
new project! it’s a good thought to muse over. i’ve been craving holding one of your cape cod photos in hand to study it.
and jen, yes i have a tshirt vice too. perhaps i’ll switch to button-up for fall
can’t wait to hear more about this project of yers, brian! ooooh. the suspense.
i have to work. bah. lovely collection of shirt photos. i’m so with you on holding something in your hands. totally different feel. happy friday.
I love dress shirts too. I’d probably have more of them too if they weren’t such a headache to clean and press. I too have a quiet, slow weekend planned and am so psyched about that. (Been too busy every other weekend this month.)
Can’t wait to hear about your new project!
shirts are beautiful.
my plans involve finally visiting the highline!
Beautiful set of images! Another blogger (Inchmark) recently published a series of photos of quilts made from dress shirts – how cool is that? Enjoy your weekend.
Ah! Me too! And we seem to have many of the same shirts. I think that as far as vices go, this isn’t so bad.
we are a plaid shirt family too. it always pleases me to see them all lined up, hanging to dry in the bathroom.
oh, i MISS the physicality of viewing art in person. online is good, because i can see way more art, period. but it’s not the same because i don’t get the details, colors, textures, and sizes that viewing art in person gives you. sigh.
This is a pretty good vice. Most of my vices I care not to mention on the internet- although I will admit to being addicted to buying dresses…
I couldn’t agree with you more about holding images in your hands, so often I adore an image in print and then cannot post it because it just doesn’t translate on a screen.
I’m looking forward to hearing more about your project.
