news!

………………
hello, hello. i’ve arrived in london and i must say … i think i am going to love it. i saw so many things today that made my heart beat a little faster and got me daydreaming about living here. above, a couple of photos from my day. (plus, i’ve already seen 2 episodes of two fat ladies on TV … so things have to be going well, right?!)
but i have some really exciting news — a few of my prints are available for purchase in jen’s simply photo pop-up shop. i’m honored to be included among such talented photographers: jen causey, molly wizenberg, shari altman and laina briedis. and a huge thank you to jen for including my work.

looks so nice over the pond. i’m glad you are feeling it. loved your work in the pop up shop.

3 Fat ladies! That coffee looks pretty strong sir. Glad you arrived safely.
oh Brian thank you for this post. I am, myself, moving to London in – just over – twenty four hours; and are damned stressed about it. those cosy pictures really do feel soothing. thank you, thank you.
x fanny
yay! it’s all good, innit.
Yay! So glad you are happy.
You deserve to be in such great company!
Good to see you are already setteling in
yay! you made it! turns out I was mighty wrong about the weather – but we are getting sunny mornings though aren’t we?
good to see you’re settling in, it’s going to be lovely to see this place through your eyes.
I can’t wait to see your London pictures!
I’m a new reader so I didn’t realize that you were a lawyer, but that fact was confirmed when I clicked over to your July 2008 archives. I’m a newly licensed attorney. It always amazes me when I find out that my favorite blog writers are also attorneys. I guess we have to get out our creativity somehow
Can’t wait to meet *your* London.
these first two are just stellar, brian. glad you arrived “home” safely.
good luck! I’d probably go nuts w/all the great UK tv as well.
SO great news. For London & the print.
Welcome to London! That top photo especially speaks to me of a the city I know so well.
Happy days getting acquainted!
loving these first photos already! and thanks for being part of the pop up shop.
ohhh, that cup of coffee and the neck scarf. I can taste it and feel the chill in the air. very, very nice. I keep thinking this is strange, caring about some guy I’ve never met on his journey to a new world in London…..hoping all is well. This is the power of a perfect commingling of photo work/passion/thoughtfulness/energy coming over in bits and bytes, right? it explains what it means to be “touched”.
Thanks for being “here” Brian.

Oh, congrats times two! A nice place and a lovely new release of your images.
i’m so glad it’s already going well over there! hey…how did you know to include my favorite photo of yours in the pop up shop? the buildings one was what drew me to your blog in the first place. this is dangerous…
2 fat ladies ?!?!?!? you can do better than that ol’ tosh
hope you get some sunshine soon – this rain is a mare , although you did manage to capture the grey beautifully.
glad you arrived safely and by the looks of it, you are settling in quite nicely! congrats on the prints, it’s going to be tough to choose!
oooh, when is your ‘about’ going to change?? so exciting.
Congrats on the work and have fun in London! Ol’ London Town is absolutely fabulous, you’ll love it, I’m sure. Plus, think about how many afternoon teas you can have! Oh, the scones…
hurrah for you! enjoy the typical fall/wintery weather and the fun “gale force” winds. i recommend watching the bbc weather. as an american, i find it very, very amusing!
Wow, this must be one of the smoothest, cheeriest cross-continental transitions ever!
Have been enjoying your blog for several months, Brian, and am looking forward to whatever comes next …
P.S. Did you get the ‘greetings and two questions’ email I sent to you on 4 Nov?
I’m verry happy for you.
I spend lots of time in London these days because my boyfriend has moved there and I really ADORE this city… (and even considering moving there too).
Can’t wait to see new images from you!
yes! saw your photos in jen’s shop the other day and got very excited! (especially happy to see that table photo with the magical lighting.) glad you are loving it out there already! can’t wait to see what’s up ahead.
I have been checking on you here!! So glad you are doing well and having fun. XOXO
I still don’t really believe you are there!!!
Woah! Congrats!
that is such a fun show! i’m looking forward to the new music you might discover.
Welcome to London. Can’t wait to see your photographs of the place. Don’t forget to come to Greenwich! The place you want to head for (other than the park, the Museums, the markets) is Royal Hill – great local food shops, and great cafes for tea and cake!
Best music show on tv is Later….with Jools Holland. It’s on BBC2 on Tuesdays and Fridays! You’ve just missed Nigel Slater’s Simple Suppers but there MUST be something better than Two Fat Ladies!!?
looks pretty snug already. looking forward to more …
You Made It!
Fantastic.
UK television is hilarious!
Hello there Brian! You’re most welcome to my lovely city. I know I’m biased but London really is a fantastic place to live. You’ll realise you’ve become a true Londoner when you pay £5 for a pint of beer without flinching and you spend at least 10 minutes of your day talking about the weather! Enjoy!
p.s. Two Fat Ladies rock!
