this weekend
2009 November 23

…………………
this weekend, i…
+ watched an impressive marionette show on the street
+ saw some good art
+ attended a barn dance-themed party, in london, where we drank asahi beer (how’s that for international??)
+ spent some time with good friends
+ did a lot of walking and exploring
+ browsed in a very cool shop, where i had a perfect cappuccino made by gwilym davies of prufrock coffee (who is the 2009 UK and world barista champion … really interesting guy)
+ spotted street art from elbow toe (i thought it looked familiar — also spotted in brooklyn last may)
hoping your weekend was a good one, too! cheers.

brian, your weekend looks magical.
new on my christmas wish list now: a marionette suitcase!
it looks like this weekend you took some amazing photos is what it looks like.
mr. ferry, i think london suits you just fine…just fine.
reading your post made me smile & reminded me of weekends spent
exploring london!
I have to wonder if elbow toe is Englands neckface? Also, if you can ever come up with why the Brits are so obsessed with stripey deck chairs, let me know. It’s a mystery.
your weekend through images is delightful. it all looks so fun.
love this glimpse into your new world. it’s funny how you can tell that these are not in ny. or maybe it’s just b/c i know. love that reflection photo. so, was the coffee the best you’ve ever had?
love the squirrel!
Brian, you have the best weekends.
Oh… so many photos I like here!
The reflection in the puddle, the deck chairs and the trunks of trees are awesome!
Oh dear, I passed by this grafitti for the first time yesterday on my way from school and was super excited to spot my first Banksy
))
I was just googling it before I came to your site, turns out the dogs are by Teddy Baden and the rest is Banksy’s work.
What a funny coincidence.
is it possible for me to trade in my weekend for yours?
love that last shot! weekend was glorious in brooklyn too! the weather was stunning and i had some good food with good friends. what more can you ask for!?
I love the second photo!
it sounds like you are settling in London quite well, Brian!
i like you.
what a great collection – i think number three is my favorite.
Each one better than the next! But my, the pickles, peek-a-boo ?whats?, and reflection are definitely sublime. As is the squirrel. Great street shots.
wow. these are all so incredible. that squirrel put a smile on my face! i think it is pretty safe to say that you + london = getting along just fine! thanks for allowing all of us to travel vicariously through your lens.
oh, and thank again for the “mumford and sons” tip. i was able to order easily through amazon here, can’t wait to get it!
great shots! i especially love the top three…and the puddle. london is treating you and your camera well.
Yeah! A Banksy (and Teddy Batten)..awesome.
These are fantastic images Brian! Love ‘em.
i always want to trade weekends with you, and now your in london, more than ever!
i hate it when i spell you’re wrong.
love the tree one. very nice.
Wow! Your pictures are delightful…thanks for sharing and keep them coming.
what great images..I have been in this street too with the wall and the little heads on it : )
London is just great
the puddle!!! sooo London – amazing!
oh brian, it looks like you are enjoying london fully, i’ve been wondering where that barista-mattias-man is (he used to work at a place here in gothenburg, which used to be good, but now it’s… not so good anymore). of course he went someplace else
i want coffee! cheers to you, hope we’ll have some beer together one day!
it seems you’re getting the best of london, i just love your amazing pictures! thanks for showing it in such a beautiful way
I live right near Pickles! I love your photography, and am enjoying going through looking for places I recognise (have lunched at the restaurant with the deckchairs many times. Yet to play boules).
Oh my, Brian. The marionettes in the suitcase diorama- be still my heart.
Wonderful set of images. The marionette show is my favourite. I am really enjoying your blog!
