nightfall, london
January 28, 2010

. . . . . . . .
there’s something about nightfall in london, walking down small cobblestone alleys and passageways, that makes me feel like i’ve been thrust back in time. it’s sort of like a dream.
here are a few blog posts i’m enjoying lately:
+ make it easy shares a japanese mag
+ tommy in paris: #1 and #2 (and a few photos from the wonderful dinner i had with tommy last week are here … sadly, i didn’t have my camera with me)
+ anil dash on obama, apple, and who we should care about (amen)
wishing you a good day.

Oh man, that Anil Dash post was great.
And second photo from the top? Wonderful.
London looks beautiful when night is falling.
looking at these gorgeous shots this morning was just what i needed. thanks, brian.
so lovely brian!
also, just went over to tommy’s blog, so pretty! thanks for introducing it to us!
I love this time of day in London. But I can’t wait for days to get longer. Because night at 4pm really starts to make me feel blue. :)
Great stuff Brian! London can be so dreamy at dusk – you captured it perfectly.
wow – gorgeous, brian!!!
That’s truly l’heure bleue at its best!!! those skies are unreal. unreal.
this is what i have been waiting for. walking around london, seeing it through your eye. imagine when spring finally comes!
I love how in each of these shots, there’s something glowing – a street light, some light against brick, a candle, a sign.
makes me miss london even more. and makes me even more envious because i know that even if i visit and visit, because i don’t live there, i won’t ever see it the way you do….
thanks for showing us.
Brian, these are really great. I especially like the third one down from the top. I lived in Spain for about a year a few years back and used to try and catch photos similar to this – tall, narrow – to compliment the alleys and thing streets. All the buildings were very white there, which made for a nice compliment to the magic blue sky and yellow of the street lights.
I dont think I have ever seen a vertical picture from Mr. Ferry. I like it!
hey, you had a dinner with tommy! :) i’m a huge fan of her photoblog. lucky you :)
great start to a grey day; thank you

also, thank you thank you for the Anil Dash link!
i love these brian. you can really sense the space between the land and the clouds. on this evening the sky truly seems a ceiling.
