. . . . . . . .
whenever i need to mull something over, i usually grab a camera and go for a walk. i find it necessary to clear my head and get some perspective. on those walks, i often stumble upon something that perfectly complements my mood, or makes me stop and think. this synchronicity surprises me. to that end, the photo above is one of my all-time favorites. i think it was the time and the place and my state of mind. it was a happy accident that i decided to turn down this side street. the moment felt important, and this photo is a perfect representation of that for me. i love when that happens.
3 things i am enjoying today:
1. susie cowie (tommy’s photos are stunning)
2. cat power performs some tunes with the sound of crickets and the forest as her backdrop (i love the changing light as the songs progress)
3. concert photos from sophie takes pictures
have a great day.

i know that feeling of synchronicity. its one of my favourites.
i can’t stop looking at this photograph – it’s quite enigmatic and powerful.
p.s.: i always like your music recommendations.
i love it when things like this happen. thanks for sharing! it is a wonderful photograph. great links today too!
A camera can be so therapeutic can’t it
always a pleasure…
I also like those moments where it’s as though the world is sending you a personal message. It’s very comforting.
Just perfect….
thank you for articulating that..
walks are splendid things, aren’t they? clear my like nothing else. unless, of course, my dog’s pulling my arms out of my socket…..
Hi Brian, I just came accross your blog and it just makes my day… Beautiful sensitive pictures you are sharing here. I feel pretty blue right now, and I’m about to get out in the street with my camera… hope it will work!
what a great photo! the cat power video totally made me think of yo la tengo’s “green arrow.” love the crickets.
I love that you shared this moment with us. Lately, I’ve been realizing that the days I don’t take any photographs are always my hardest. If I’m feeling overwhelmed, I remind myself: pick up the camera.
thank you for reminding me.
Oh, hello! Really great portrait. And thank you for linking to the post about Susie. I wish more people will see it and her work!
