evening light
April 15, 2010

. . . . . . .
with the beginning of british summer time a few weeks ago, we moved the clocks ahead in england and i can’t tell you how much i am enjoying the longer evenings. if i am home in time, my flat is filled with light at 7:15pm and over the next hour, i watch the light fade. as i experience my first spring here, it’s neat to see these changes each evening. i am very much affected by light, so i certainly do notice a difference. (i often feel like my first 2 months here were spent in complete darkness … i know that’s not true, but it sure felt like it!)
tomorrow is friday — i’m excited to share some flickr favorites with you. until then, be well.

Light is so important, has to be just right …… I live in Australia and sometimes the light is too harsh…. adore these photographs, just beautiful !!!
I feel the same about light in Bergen. Lovely photos.
lovely.

Wow, I love this light. The vignette is lovely too.
Do you have a secret door to John Malkovich’s brain down there? What is that tiny door?
haha! no, i think it’s the remnants of the old fireplace.
bferry, your pictures have been INCREDIBLE lately. london has treated you well – you have become quite the artist over there. i miss you!!
lovely photos as always brian. i too feel like i’ve spent the last couple months in the dark. i think that’s why spring always feels so special to me…to get green things and evening light back after a long, dark chicago winter. it feels like such a gift.
You capture evenings so well…
I’m the same way, Brian. My first year+ in Korea was in a tiny, second floor cave of an apartment with no direct windows to the street. One faced a brick wall, the other was through a set back from the main room. You can see why I chose my current place.
I love when the light is so “visible” and changing!
In my new home, there’s not a lot of light inside, as I had in the previous one; but it does make for a lot of good lighting play and changes through the day.

Beautiful light and calm mood
I appreciate this gentle reminder to stop and simply be aware. Thanks, Brian!
I thought the same thing as Heather about the door! What a fun little room.
oh i love that light!
we just turned our clocks back here in Australia. I will miss the long twilights. Thanks for the lovely images
