it’s a book all about brooklyn, where i lived before i moved to london. brooklyn is a remarkable place and i certainly miss it while i’m living abroad, so i was happy to contribute.
the book is split up into different sections: walk, eat, shop, home, and studio. in my section, i take you around shopping to some of my favorite stores in brooklyn. i chose 6 spots, and photographed 4 of them. you’ll have to pick up a copy of the book to see my full list and the wonderful selections from the other talented artists.
speaking of those artists, here is a list of the people you’ll find inside the book:
Lindsey Adams Adelman, Jessica Antola, Jen Causey, Brian W. Ferry, Hikaru Furuhashi, James Gallagher, Julianna Goodman, Jennifer Gordy, Thayer Allyson Gowdy, Tim, Anna, Benji & Casper Harrington, Nidhi Malhotra, Jen Mankins, Lisa Mayock, Caitlin Mociun, Pam Morris, Christopher Silas Neal, Sarah Palmer, Youngna Park, Christopher David Ryan, Sarah Ryhanen, Jennifer Sarkilahti, Shannon South, Bronagh Staley, Kirsten Kay Thoen, Breanne Trammell, Maria Alexandra Vettese, Candice Waldron & Maya Rose, and Jessica Williams.
if you have not held a book from Lines & Shapes in your hands before, you really should. they are carefully considered art books, all of them are nicely made, and they cover really diverse and interesting topics and themes. Lines & Shapes will be at the NY Art Book Fair next month, too – so stop by their table to see the books in person.
instead of showing you all of my work that is included in the book (not to beat a dead horse, but… buy a copy!), this week i wanted to show you some of the photographs that did not make it into the book. below, you see outtakes from kill devil hill in greenpoint, and stuart & wright in fort greene.
more outtakes soon!
