last night we saw toro y moi play here in london, and it was pretty great. chaz bundick, the south carolina native who is the man behind toro y moi, is damn talented and it was good to see him live.  many people describe the sound as “chillwave” – i’m not sure what to call it, but it’s nice.

if chaz looks at all familiar, it’s because he was in some of the baron wells photographs that i posted about a few times this past summer (the full photo series is HERE, from the talented rob kulisek).

toro y moi has a cool website, a myspace page, and chaz posts a lot of visual gems at his blog, poor + lonely.  check it out and have a listen.  i recommend the tracks ‘leave everywhere’ and ‘talamak’ to start.
