During a busy and stressful day, looking at these photos has quieted my mind just a little bit. A sense of calm for a few minutes.
(Photos taken in Vermont earlier this month)

The top two shots are especially sumptuous.
big smiles here. glad they are giving you a sense of calm.
the color of the snow is amazing :)
the detail, exposure, emotion … simply breathtaking.
Im planning a year of summers this year, but you make me think i’ll need a year of winters after that…
These are stunning! They give me a sense of calm as well….I’ve never been to Vermont but I know I want to live there.
I just recently found your blog…you know how that goes, clicking away. Your photos stopped me completely and had me reading through your older posts for hours.
So now I’m hooked. :) It really is a pleasure to visit you.

Gorgeous. Reminds me of Andrew Wyeth for some reason.
These are beautiful!
just the tonic for today. thanks Brian! you nailed it.
Beautiful paix.
Beautiful shots–lovely & so different from your other work (the first two especially, I think.)
Thanks!
Absolutely stunning photos!
Great photos…. Hopefully copies will be availible to buy !
beautiful minimalism
Such nice work here. I always find snow such slippery stuff to photograph — you nailed it.
These are really beautiful.

beautiful pictures! first 3 pictures look like water colour paintings.
It is good to be reminded that winter is beautiful.
Beautiful! These are some of my favorite photos you’ve ever done.
Agree with everyone else’s comments here – the first shot for me especially is exquisite! Snow is so hard to capture tonally – these are like the most rarest of watercolour too, such depth, so quiet. How you manage to be in the right place at the right time so often astounds me.
One of my favourite children’s illustrators is a chap called Jon Klassen – look him up – tonally very similar and he’s done a book called extra yarn which has your name all over it. Which camera/film/lens/exposure did you use for these?
