bits & pieces

March 24, 2009

some snapshots from this past weekend.  (the last one is a photo of the rooster purchased for $10 at kill devil hill in greenpoint.  what a find! they have the best stuff)

today i am…
+ enjoying epic ballad, by dallas clayton
+ looking at this set of photos of abandoned buildings in iceland
+ kicking myself for putting wake forest in the final four in my NCAA bracket. not the best idea.

i hope to be back here soon with some film to share … have a nice day.

    thanks guys!

hannah, i’m just shooting with my canon and using my new-ish lens (the 50mm f1.8 – i really like it, but it has taken some getting used to)

Bacon on a counter never looked so good!! Love these pics – that zoom lense is incred. Will we ever see the mysterious bathroom pic from Five Leaves? And Jean Luc is looking fab – citrus is a good look for him.

Hi! I found my way here trying to find info about Grass Doe’s photos… via google. And I am so, so happy I did. I couldn’t help going back farther and farther into your archives–watching what you took pics of–and noticing how your point of view and skill has really been honed over the last couple of months. Also love all the links you share and I too, am rather obsessed with food though I don’t share much about it on my blog. Anyway–just saying hello. I imagine I’ll be a regular from now on.

oh the insanity! i went to brunch at enids on saturday and then walked around brooklyn ( i live in astoria) exploring the unknown. at one point i needed to use the bathroom and ducked inside a cute brunch place with no name on the awning. as i was standing in front of the bathroom door waiting for my turn i looked up and saw and red ball on some sort of springy lever contraption and i pondered it for quite awhile. i’ll be damned if you don’t have a photo of it! what are the chances you were there at the same time as i was and… what is the name of that place?

Again that Gösser beer ad! Had to grin quite a bit when I saw something so Austrian in a completely different part of the world.
