a treat

April 28, 2009

last week, i had an afternoon (mostly) free, which does not happen often. i stopped in at momofuku bakery & milk bar to try some soft-serve.  what interesting flavors … i had the ‘old-fashioned donut’ and it was the perfect afternoon treat. (and the late-afternoon light in there was killer!  i had to snap a few photos, of course).

hoping you take the time to treat yourself to something good today.

I think I am glad I don’t live near there. I would probably have one of those a day.

Oh, I love that everyone has ice cream on the brain right now. I had pistachio on Sunday. This looks so so good.

Ha! Being from Portland, a sign that says “Stumptown, New York” just looks funny to me. Lovely light. And pretty nice soft serve. I love the creativity at Momomilk…and liked the old-fashioned-donut flavor more than the Lucky Charms flavor available earlier.

what a tease!! I want to go there NOW! I like the idea of cereal milk flavor. Although I wonder how much of that I could really handle… can you mix and match flavors?

AHHH! That looks and sounds amazing. I have a real weakness for soft-serve, even though it’s rarely any good.

no words can express the sheer awesomeness of what is going on in this post, Brian. But I think you already knew I’d feel that way.

i went to milk bar after your recommendation. it is such a sweet place. i got the bavarian cream flavor and also a compost cookie for later. both were delicious! i have to go back for that cornflake marshmallow chocolate chip cookie and the crack pie.
