…………………
the sun sets in london quite early … by 4pm, night has fallen. instead of fighting the longer nights, i’m going to try to embrace them. it makes it easier when i see that filtered, golden autumn sunshine during the day.
a few links i’m enjoying…
+ heaven can wait, charlotte gainsbourg & beck (the video is so cool)
+ a father/daughter roadtrip documented on camera, “in search of eustace” (via 2 or 3 things i know)
+ a blog i’m enjoying, dot com dot co dot uk
looking forward to a super weekend around here. hope yours is fun, too! happy friday.

Can you believe that it’s your second weekend there already?! Sounds like you’ll become an honorary Londonite in no time. Have a good one.
that is a super cool video. great light in these photos! have a happy happy weekend.
yes it really does get dark too early here! I can see the sun setting already now. Makes me sad but I really love the winter sun on bright clear days.
Re: enjoying embracing early evenings, Jane Brocket had a blog post recently about that, too. I think she’s right and experiencing/noticing/appreciating the contrast between the dark world outside and the warm cozy world inside helps. I’m thinking about fall/winter evening walks and noticing warm yellow light from windows — in college I’d walk across campus and love how the library was all lit up (see this picture as a good example!).
Oops, my link to the library picture didn’t work – here it is. (http://gallery.columbia.edu/images/cuhomebutlerexteriorjpg)
that beck track is wicked. i love it.
such lovely photos. we’ve had ‘we love brooklyn’ on our blog this week if you’ve had anytime to feel a little bit homesick. hope not. enjoy your weekend!
hey Brian – my friend recently introduced me to your blog. thank you for sharing your photos, etc…and inspiring me to be more creative. btw..that father/daughter roadtrip had me in tears. amazing. looking forward to reading more about your london adventures! i love it there!! see if you can find Ye Olde Mitre pub…a friend who was recently in London stumbled across this gem. enjoy your weekend! i am just beginning mine in NYC…
This has reminded me to pop down to the farmers’ market in Hampstead. I haven’t quite got back to my routine yet after being away for a month. Thanks!
charlotte gainsbourg just gets better and better :)
that golden light is glorious.
oh i love the “morning coffee” one — being that i’m from St. Petersburg AND used to shoot with Zenit – that was my first camera in fact.
I loved ‘in search of eustace’. A wonderful find indeed.
