on my countertop

March 5, 2010

not too much time for cooking these days.  but i’ve been trying to spend time in the kitchen on the weekends and i always snap a photo of what i’m eating.
+ those tortas. my lord. i could eat these every day (and i did just that this past week)
+ damson plum jam from leila’s shop, a place that always cheers me up (the small plum pits are in the jam so you need to watch out, but i don’t mind. this jam is excellent)
+ eggs, toast and french-style fig yogurt (one jar of this stuff and you will never eat lowfat yogurt again)
+ prepping a sunday lunch

i wonder what will be on my countertop this weekend?
have a good one.

i love your counter shots, so good. what’s in that little white bottle? is that the yogurt? or is that salt?
enjoy your weekend and whatever is on your plate.

there is something wonderful about quick meals – and the simple staples that make them lovely even if you don’t have the time to work on something all day – good bread, butter, jam, good cheese….

  8. March 5, 2010 11:08 am

oh i need some more of those yoghurts.
have a great weekend brian, with some good breakfasts!

so much goodness here. the torta sort of looks like socca, which i have been eating entirely too much around these parts lately! so good.

why do breakfasts in other countries always look so appetizing! i want that fig yogurt! i had so much fun in the dairy aisle when i was in paris…..

    happy friday!

I tried out your muesli recipe this week and boy was it delicious. Although I substituted apricots and cranberries for the raisons and I used brown sugar.

Plum jam I love. As it is nearly lunch time here on a quiet Monday I think I will toast a little bread and have it with lashings of plum jam.
