. . . . . . . . . .

these days, i’m looking forward to wearing short-sleeves and breaking in a new pair of mocs. i’d like to see this movie again, and i’m listening to these tunes from michael as summer approaches. i’m dreaming of my favorite sandwich in brooklyn, while making the inevitable shift to lighter meals at home … an extraordinary way with lettuce for supper this week, using fresh peas, broad beans and lettuces from the farmer’s market on sunday. i’m making plans to visit paris, and thinking about the heat on the eastern US coast in august. this weekend, i mixed up the first dark & stormy, my favorite warm-weather cocktail, and i look forward to many more in the coming months. i’ve been relaxing at night with the shipping forecast from the BBC, and waking up to go running in the early morning sunshine. i’d like to plan more picnics, and i can’t wait for wimbledon. we’re lingering outside at pubs past 10pm as the sky slowly darkens and we enjoy these long days. and i’m feeling inspired by these photos: a country wash, you can hear the children in the street. now all i need is some hot summer weather. i’m ready.
