100% summer

June 28, 2010

. . . . . . . .

they tell me that you can’t depend on a british summer; that it could be cool and rainy all summer long. i was prepared for the worst, and i thought it might be true until this past week. it’s been glorious here in london; really warm temps, loads of sun, and many smiling people enjoying it.

so this week, i’m going to celebrate summer around here … we don’t know how long it will last, but i hope it will stick around for a while.

to get things started off right, i made a new summer mix. head on over and give it a listen HERE.

track list
+ in the summertime (the rural alberta advantage)
+ marathon (tennis)
+ dreams come true girl (cass mccombs)
+ big bird in a small cage (patrick watson)
+ england (the national)
+ needles and pins (jackie de shannon)
+ on my way back home (band of horses)
+ beach comber (real estate)
+ arkansas (damien jurado)
+ unbearable why (dr. dog)
+ zorbing (stornoway)

That Patrick Watson song is sublime. He puts on a hell of a live show.

Hi. Thanks for this perfect mix. I’m listening at work, but feel like I am somewhere else. That’s pretty much the most I could ask from a mix, I think.

nice mixtape! patrick watson is probably my favourite band (if you’ve ever have the chance to see him live, go do so! you’d be blown away!) so it’s cool finding it here.

i’ve made one as well some days ago, it’s full of happy cheery easy summersongs. you might like it, it’s downloadable here if you want:
