leave everywhere

. . . . . . . . . .
it’s no secret that i’ve been aching to get to the ocean this summer, so i made it happen this weekend. a perfect day spent walking around with my cameras, reading a book from cover to cover, fresh oysters, a fresh crab and mayonnaise sandwich on the sea wall, cold beers, coconut ice cream, cooling off in the water.
this song by toro y moi was on repeat all day.
then back to the city and the week ahead, arms and face tingling from the sun.
(i’ll be sharing many photos from the beach this week … i’ve got a lot)

oh now that looks like the perfect way to spend a weekend.
perfect, just perfect. i’m looking forward to seeing more pictures!
love these photos and the feeling behind them! they are very reminiscent of your photos from the cape last year. glad you had a nice little getaway. how do you always get your film back so fast?!
Hooray for the beach!
Somehow summer seems incomplete without a trip to see the ocean. Glad you got to visit.
Summer bliss!
So, so beautiful.
Whitstable? There’s a lovely old-fashioned sweet shop on the high street. Whenever I visit the town (my family have a flat there), I go straight to the market, buy some oyters and eat them on the beach looking out to sea. Bliss!
I love photos for the beach even though they make me ache for it even more.
looks and sounds absolutely wonderful.
Sounds heavenly!
i’m big on your trips by train.
ferry, i think you need ocean in your life.
Lovely, as usual. Where were you?
i would have loved to tag along. sounds perfect.
so good and yet another place that I am ashamed to say I have never been to.
so dreamy. second best to actually being there.
you captured this so well. i feel the wonderful atmosphere there.
That’s mad, we’ve been listening to that song by Toro Y Moi for a week or so in the office non-stop…

this set is the perfect counterpoint to the wellfleet pictures.
you found yourself your new summer muse.
The next lovely sunny day (rain, rain go away) I’m heading to Galveston. I can’t wait to wiggle my toes in the sand. I had this planned already but seeing these photos this week will make sure I make it happen.
Beautiful photos as always Brian. I’m so glad you were able to get down to the sea for a bit. It’s so invigorating to breath the salty air. Love it!
