these photos were all taken at dusk on 1/1/11, the first day of the new year. i was with friends near spruce head, maine. it was really incredible to stay in a house near the ocean as we said goodbye to 2010 and welcomed 2011.

    Ahhhh, dusk in Maine. 4:30 in the afternoon. I was in Maine over Christmas and just love photographing the winter light. These are beautiful ~ I look forward to seeing more. Happy New Year.

    Are those shells? That is the most epic find. I could just imagine how beautiful this moment was for you. A perfect way to bring in the New Year. Love the colour and mood this brings forth.

    these are so peaceful, magic.

    (the elite chrome 100 slide is one of my all-time favourite films. oddly enough, i haven’t used it in a long time – i don’t even know why.)

    Beautiful photos. I live near Spruce Head, just having moved from Brooklyn. Life here is, as they say, just as it should be. You make me want to grab my camera and head out to Owl’s Head…
