I’m just discovering aleppo pepper and have been sprinkling it with abandon this week. It’s good stuff.

What? A food item that I don’t know about? Thank you for the tip; out of shame I will get on this right away!

If you visit the spice market in Istanbul you can have your fill of all the many variations of the chili. I brought a load back, both crushed and whole. Turned the whole ones into chili oil and the crushed ones have been used in/on pretty much everything

If you like that you should get your arse to green lanes and get yourself some of this:

The bazaar in Aleppo’s worth a visit too.

I love that second photo so much. The nails, the rings, the shrimp carcasses! Love it. Also love Aleppo pepper. That rusty hue! I feel like it tastes like it looks.
