. . . . . . . .

a slow, sunny start to the week.

i’m still puzzling over medium-format film cameras. i picked up a pentacon six TL this weekend, but it seems to be a dud, sadly. the shot above is one of the only 2 shots that turned out in the 3 rolls that i took. sad face.

the search continues!

otherwise, i had a swell weekend and i’ll show you more this week.

Bummer Brian. What was the problem? Meter? You could always get a separate meter. I just ordered new batteries for my Yashica Mat. I was worried that the meter went, but apparently the new batteries for it don’t last very long. Good luck.

Arf… Just go for Hasselblad. Anyway, it’s not the camera that makes great photos, it’s the photographer. But you already know that. :-)

I agree with Xavier, go for a Hasselblad, but not the one I lust for. Love the lighting in this simple photo.

Give the Mamiya 7 a try. You’ll feel like youre using your K100, only without the thud from the mirror. Its nice. Very peaceful.

Ah I’m sorry the Pentacon six didn’t work out for you. I’ve been in love with that camera for a while too.. But there are many other options for medium format! Good luck and can’t wait to see more gorgeous pictures :)

I love the sun in this picture. Sleepy.

I love Pentacon, and I’ll forever regret selling mine, because it was one of the few non-faulty ones out there. Despite it’s bulkiness, the typical look that the Carl Zeiss lens gives, the way it captures light and the depth…it’s just sexy! :)

Just reading about you losing so many images had me almost emotional. Though it’s terribly expensive and heartbreaking, sometimes the uncertainty in faulty cameras makes for an exhilarating albeit crushing experience. Good luck with your search.

Have you tried a Mamiya C220? I have one with a chrome lens and it’s my go-to camera of choice, fast replacing my Mamiya 7..
