RL Rugby guest-blogging

March 31, 2011

above, outtakes from the shoot i did for the Rugby RL blog

. . . . . . . .

i’ve got something exciting to share with you today…

last month, a couple of editors at Rugby Ralph Lauren asked me to collaborate with them on a post for the Rugby blog, and i agreed. we bounced a couple of ideas back and forth and then i had the chance to shoot some of their spring products: 5 navy blue dresses (now that’s a first for me!). it was a real pleasure, and if you’d like to see the results, click over to the Rugby RL blog to read the post and see the photographs.

big thanks to kerry and megan for asking me to be involved.

Surprisingly, you work with dresses just like with men’s clothes: attentively and without any unnecessary thigns around the items. Moreover it’s great that the shoots aren’t too stereotypic or primitive. I mean usually if you ask a man to take pictures related somehow with women or their clothes the result is not unexpected, they see it as all other men: shoes, legs and light dresses fluttered in the air. But what you did is not like that, it seems that you felt all these dresses just like we feel it and think about it. The shoots are not too girlish and that’s why I like them. Thank you for being faithful to your style.

Wow, you did a fantastic job with those pictures. They definitely asked the right person to capture them. I really like how you incorporated the different flowers for the dresses, and the sets of two was a nice balance.

Also: lighting. <3 Such gorgeous lighting in that room.

These are fantastic. I love that companies are recognizing that your beautiful style can feature their product without hitting the consumer over the head. Simple is stylish and that is one of the things I love so much about your photographs.
