This past weekend, I took another 3-day trip to Cape Cod for a friend’s wedding, and this time a group of my friends and I stayed in this incredible summer house above.  Lived-in, worn-in, rambling, full of character, and almost as if time has stood still since it was built in the early 1900s. A house with stories to tell.  This is my favorite kind of home.

If you are curious about this area, you should read one of my favorite (non-fiction) books, The Big House by George Howe Colt. It’s a wonderful book about Cape Cod, Boston Brahmins, nostalgia, family, summer.  The “Big House” that forms the center of the story which is referenced in the title is located just down the road from the house above.
