. . . . . . . . . .
On my last Sunday in London, good friends Charlotte & Matt invited me over for a Sunday roast at their flat.
It started with a very good bottle of Champagne that I had been saving for who knows when (I couldn’t take it back to the US with me). (Note to self: drink more afternoon Champagne in 2012).
Then we ate potatoes roasted in goose fat, delicious roast beef with lots of dijon mustard, and tarte tatin for dessert.
It was a great way to spend my last Sunday. Thanks, C & M. You’re the best.
Pure goose fat…I haven’t tried that yet.
You must!
Roasties in goose fat! Smashing.
mmmmm everything sounds delish. still stuck with college dining hall food here eugh!
this is a lovely post. love your photos, as always.
Thank you for the previous and last post, keeping a little bit of your London/UK experience alive!
I’m salivating just thinking of potatoes in goose fat…without a doubt, that is my new cooking imperative. thanks!
Beautiful table there, I’m coveting that… and the meal! I say yes, more afternoon champagne!
beautiful…you’ve such good friends. and such wonderful memories.
roasties film !
ahhh, you’re very welcome. any time, ferry, any time.
would that every sunday roast started with that champagne!
I do love me some goose-fat roasted potatoes! I think I may follow your lead on the New Year’s Resolution front- Champagne all around!
Sounds like a lovely and appropriate way to spend your last moments there!

Lovely way to spend your last day in London. :)
Lovely. They say that home made Sunday roasts are the best, I haven’t had the chance to try one yet! Important note to self too! :)
they are the best. as are sunday roasts!
Lovely, moody pics! Here’s to more champagne…and I am definitely living in the wrong country…must find a Pacific-side source for pure bottled goose fat!
That menu is PERFECT for this time of year! And it reminds me, it’s been much too long since I made a tarte tatin. Lovely photographs.
