Kazu Makino for Apiece Apart
. . . . . . .
A total dream assignment last week: I had the opportunity to photograph Kazu Makino at home for women’s fashion label Apiece Apart. Kazu is the frontwoman of the band Blonde Redhead (a favorite of mine) and an incredible talent. So I was psyched to hang out with her at home and make these portraits. It was such a great shoot – thanks to Kazu for welcoming us and making the afternoon so enjoyable.
See the full feature and read the interview with Kazu on Apiece Apart’s website here: https://www.apieceapart.com/kazu-makino
Also, watch the incredibly inspiring black & white video for the SS16 collection, starring Kazu, on Vogue.com here: http://www.vogue.com/fashion-shows/spring-2016-ready-to-wear/apiece-apart#video
Thanks to Alexa Hotz for the styling and to Leigh Patterson for production.

I love your realism and fragmentalist framing, very inspiring. Light looks so fresh in these shots.
