Coastal Rhode Island Home for Dwell

January 12, 2016

. . . . .

Happy New Year!

I’m kicking off 2016 by sharing a feature that I photographed for the current issue of Dwell magazine (January 2016).

It’s an incredible coastal Rhode Island house where I spent 2 idyllic summer days taking photos of the Merola family and their summer home. This is one of my favorite parts of New England so it was such a pleasure to travel here for the assignment (after the sun set and the shoot wrapped on day 2, I made it to Abbott’s Lobster in the Rough just before they closed and celebrated with a lobster roll, steamers and a cold beer).

I’ve added the full series of photos to my portfolio here:

Thanks to Sue Getzendanner and the Merola family for such a great shoot.

You can see the story on Dwell’s website, too.

The stark modernist house dimensions and furniture are broken only by the bio-elements of people, dogs and vegetation.
